Examples of the Wisconsin Idea in Action
One example of the Wisconsin Idea in action is the work of the UW-Madison Division of Extension. Through its network of county offices, Extension provides educational programs and resources on a wide range of topics, including agriculture, health, and youth development, to communities across the state.
Another example is the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF). Founded in 1925, WARF is a non-profit organization that patents and licenses inventions created by UW-Madison faculty and staff. The revenue generated by WARF supports research and teaching at UW-Madison, as well as other initiatives that benefit the state.
