Japanese Language Proficiency
A basic understanding of the Japanese language is essential for a successful application. Undergraduate applicants are not required to submit a Japanese language proficiency certificate, but Japanese language proficiency can be used as a screening criterion.
Graduate and doctoral applicants are required to demonstrate Japanese language proficiency by submitting a Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) certificate or equivalent. The required JLPT level may vary depending on the field of study, but typically, a score of N2 or higher is required.
